Japan Mix Volleyball Association
Chairman, YOSHIHIRO OE 1979/11/09
I began playing volleyball when I was 11 years old, and continued to play it up until the end of high school. I started coaching at the same high school I went to right after my graduation. A few years later, I started MAGNAM CUP, one of the biggest volleyball tournaments in Japan, at the age of 22. A year after, Mixed Volleyball Tournament started and this association was finally established in the following year.
Now, I play and teach volleyball more than twice a week and am still in charge of running the association for holding tournaments.
I believe that spots is a tool to give vitality of everyday life because it relives stress, solves a lack of exercise and can improve a quality of time with friends and family.
Mixed volleyball is a safety first sport that both men and women, young and elders can participate happily and fairly. I really hope that this style of volleyball grows into a family-friendly sport and life-long sport and spreads more both inside and outside Japan in the future.
